Prior to the match between the women’s teams of Club Deportes Antofagasta (CDA) and Colo-Colo in Tocopilla this weekend, SQM was presented as an official sponsor of the national competition, a commitment made between the company and the National Professional Soccer Association (ANFP) in Santiago last May.

During the teams’ entrance onto the field, Pablo Pisani, Director of Communities and Public Affairs for SQM’s nitrates and iodine businesses, presented captains Yanara Aedo (Colo-Colo) and Francisca Seura (CDA) with the official bracelet of the SQM Women’s Championship 2023, marking the beginning of this new era for soccer in our country.

“At SQM we are convinced that collaboration is the best way to achieve great results, which is why we have made a commitment as official sponsor of the National Women’s Championship. In partnership with the ANFP, we hope to mobilize more women in this sport and contribute to competition, inclusion and respect,” commented the executive.

This commitment from SQM strengthens the support it has been providing for some time now to three of the country’s great women’s teams: Universidad Católica, Club Deportes Antofagasta and Club Deportes Iquique, who through this alliance have been able to optimize the conditions of their women’s programs. “We want to have a positive impact on the territories where we operate and what better way to do it than through sports and supporting great athletes from the north and center of the country,” added Pisani.

The multiple contributions made recently include SQM’s main sponsorship of the CDA cougars; a mutual collaboration agreement for the next three years with the UC women’s team; and the recent confirmation of SQM as the official sponsor of the CDI blue dragons.
